Soccer Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

My son told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got plenty of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
