Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
